The Historic Queen Street East BIA was established in 2006 and is composed of commercial property tenants and owners who work in partnership with the City of Toronto to foster a thriving community for businesses, residents, and visitors. As a collective voice, the BIA leverages its organizational structure and financial resources to advocate and listen to the concerns of the businesses, improving the Queen St East neighbourhood and contributing to the overall betterment of the City of Toronto at large.

The BIA was dissolved in the early 2010s, however, in recent years the local Councillor’s office has heard from many businesses that have advocated for the restoration of the BIA. With a goal of operating by Q1 2025, the BIA would advocate and serve the interests of Queen Street East residents and businesses.

Toronto’s diversity includes the many Indigenous nations and peoples whose traditional territory is covered by Treaty 13 and the Williams Treaties. We honour and acknowledge that Ward 13 is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples, and is now home to many First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.
